2 suspected drug traders arrested in Laguna


Two men allegedly involved in illegal drug trade were arrested on Friday in Laguna, a belated police report said Saturday. A man identified as Francisco Barashari was arrested at 5 p.m. Friday in Barangay Macabling in Sta. Rosa City during a buy-bust operation conducted by local police in the area, Superintendent Ismael Fernandez, chief of the Sta. Rosa police, reported on Saturday. Barashari was caught for allegedly selling a sachet of shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) in the area, according to Fernandez. Another suspect, identified as Reynante Licmuan, was nabbed inside Barashari’s house for allegedly possessing illegal drugs and other paraphernalia for drug use, the local police chief said. Recovered from Licmuan were a sachet of shabu, an improvised water pipe, a lighter and a strip of aluminum foil, Fernandez said. Fernandez added that the two suspects have been brought to the regional crime laboratory for drug testing while criminal raps are being prepared against them.—Andreo C. Calonzo/JV, GMANews.TV
