Report: Japanese firm exec shot dead in ambush

An official of a Japanese company was shot dead in an ambush in Batangas province Saturday. At least two unidentified men shot dead Cesar Misamis, 51, a safety assistant officer of Babcock-Hitachi Philippines, in Bauan town, according to a Radio dzXL report. Misamis was killed on the spot following the shooting at Villa Orense Subdivision in Poblacion 4 village in Bauan. Initial investigation showed Misamis was on his way to work aboard a motorcycle with plate number WG-6697 when he was ambushed. The killers fled aboard the victim's motorcycle, but abandoned the vehicle in San Pascual town in Batangas. Police are still determining the motive of the killing.—JV, GMANews.TV
