Quakes rock Isabela, Bohol


At least two quakes rocked parts of Isabela province in Northern Luzon early Sunday and late Saturday, but no casualty or damage was initially reported. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) on Sunday recorded a magnitude-4.4 quake at 12:55 a.m. Sunday near Palanan town in Isabela. The quake was tectonic, and its epicenter was 32 kms southwest of Palanan. Phivolcs said the quake was felt at Intensity II in Palanan. A similar quake was recorded in the area before midnight Saturday. Phivolcs said the earlier quake measured at magnitude 4. It said the earlier quake was recorded at 11:39 p.m. Saturday, with the epicenter 22 km southeast of Palanan, where the quake was felt at Intensity III. Meanwhile, Phivolcs said a magnitude-3.2 quake rocked Bohol province in Central Visayas Saturday afternoon. It said the quake was tectonic and the epicenter was traced to 3 km northeast of Guindulman town in Bohol. The quake was felt at Intensity II in Guindulman town and at Intensity I in Camiguin Island. - KBK, GMANews.TV
