PAGASA: 'Glenda' moving toward Taiwan

Tropical Storm Glenda (Kompasu) maintained its strength as it moved toward Taiwan Monday morning, state weather forecasters said. In its 11 a.m. advisory, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said "Glenda" was estimated at 975 km east northeast of Basco, Batanes as of 10 a.m. Glenda was packing maximum winds of 75 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 90 kph, and was moving west northwest at 19 kph, PAGASA said. By Tuesday morning it is expected to be 830 km northeast of Basco, Batanes or 660 km east of Taiwan. Pagasa maintained Glenda is still too far to affect any part of the country. — RSJ, GMANews.TV
