Seven-vehicle smash-up snarls Skyway traffic


An undetermined number of people were reported hurt after a seven-vehicle smashup during the early morning rush-hour traffic along the Skyway in southern Metro Manila. Skyway radio operator Leo Estudillo said the vehicles involved in the accident included a trailer-truck and a bus. The initial investigation showed that the the incident occurred shortly before 6:00 a.m. near Sucat, Parañaque. “Meron tayong injuries na dinala sa nearest hospitals. Maraming injuries (There were many injuries. They were brought to nearby hospitals)," Estudillo said in an interview on dzBB radio. While he did not elaborate on the injuries, he said rescue teams needed to bring “lifelines." The injured were brought to the Asian Hospital and Parañaque Doctors Hospital, he added. Estudillo said the traffic along the service road became heavy after the accident and he advised motorists to take detours. – VVP, GMANews.TV
