Part of Taft Avenue closed to traffic Sunday for bar exams

Starting this Sunday, a portion of Taft Avenue from Quirino Avenue to Vito Cruz will be closed to traffic for the annual Bar examinations. Radio dzRH reported Saturday the closure of a part of the southbound lane of Taft Avenue will be in effect in all four Sundays of September, while the Bar exams are ongoing. During those four Sundays, that portion of Taft Avenue will be closed to traffic from 4 a.m. to 6 p.m. The report said some 5,012 law graduates are expected to take the examinations at the De La Salle University in Manila starting September 5. Supreme Court Associate Justice Conchita Carpio-Morales will serve as Bar examination committee chairman for this year. Last year, 5,903 examinees from 108 law schools took the exams but only 1,451 or 24.58 percent passed. — LBG, GMANews.TV
