Armed men burn 2 Globe cell sites in Tarlac, Pampanga


Armed men burned at least two cell sites of Globe Telecom in separate attacks in Tarlac and Pampanga provinces Sunday night. Radio dzXL reported Monday that police in the region are looking into extortion as the likely motive for both attacks, which occurred at about 8 p.m. Sunday. In Tarlac, at least 10 men wearing "military" uniforms attacked a Globe cell site in Estrada village in Capas town. The second attack occurred in San Antonio village in Mexico town in Pampanga, where three men suspected to be communist New People's Army members burned another of the firm's cell sites.
