HK court defers Singson arraignment to Oct 19

A Hong Kong court on Tuesday granted the plea of Ilocos Sur Rep. Ronald Singson to delay his arraignment to October 19. Radio dzXL reported Singson's camp had asked to defer the arraignment for medical reasons. Singson and his lawyer appeared before the Wan Chai District Court early Tuesday and asked for the postponement of the arraignment. The report said Rep. Singson appeared to have lost weight. It added that Singson's father, Ilocos Sur Governor Luis Singson, did not accompany him to the court. Earlier, Rep. Singson was allowed to post a bail of HK$1 million (P6 million) after being arrested at the Hong Kong International Airport in July for drug possession. –VVP, GMANews.TV
