Promo video offers glimpse of Charice on Glee

Fans of international singing sensation Charice Pempengco can now have a glimpse of her performance in the second season of the hit TV show Glee through a promotional video. Charice, the voice behind the chart topper “Pyramid," plays a Filipino exchange student named Sunshine Corazon in the popular teen series. The official promo video for Glee’s second season features a brief clip of Pempengco having a showdown with fellow cast member Lea Michele, who plays one of the main characters in the show, the overbearing but very talented Rachel Berry. In the show, Sunshine’s spectacular voice matches the vocals of Rachel in their rendition of “Telephone," a pop song popularized by Beyonce and Lady Gaga. The two characters played by Pempengco and Michele are slated for some serious competition and rivalry over the story arc of the season. The promo also shows the cast singing Jay-Z and Alicia Keys’ “Empire State of Mind." Glee was one of the most popular new shows of 2009, winning the 2010 Golden Globe award for Best Musical or Comedy TV Series. Glee’s second season will start on September 21 with an episode called “Audition." - KBK, GMANews.TV
