Report: Robbery mars new police chief's first day

On the first day of Deputy Director General Raul Bacalzo as the new Philippine National Police (PNP) chief, robbers struck again! A series of robberies in buses and business establishments have been recorded in Metro Manila within the last two weeks. On Tuesday, when Bacalzo took over the top PNP post from Dir. Gen. Jesus Verzosa, unidentified men barged into a meat dealer's shop in a commercial area in Pasig City shortly after noon. A report by radio dzBB's Benjie Liwanag Jr. said police have cordoned off the area around the shop, a factory outlet for fresh meat. Police are also checking with a nearby bank if its closed-circuit television (CCTV) systems caught an image of the suspects. The incident occurred along Amang Rodriguez in Manggahan village in Pasig City. The initial investigation showed the suspects escaped aboard a motorcycle. –VVP, GMANews.TV
