Cop shot dead by carjackers in Quezon City

A traffic policeman was shot dead after being mistaken for tracking suspected carjackers in Quezon City Friday night. Radio dzBB reported Saturday police are hunting down at least three carjackers who shot dead PO1 Efren Jacobo of the city police's mobile force. The incident occurred at about 10 p.m. Friday along Mindanao Avenue, when one of the three suspects allegedly shot Jacobo while he was aboard his motorcycle. Jacobo was declared dead at the Quezon City General Hospital. Police also recovered a Honda Civic that the suspects abandoned. They said they are checking if the vehicle was stolen. Investigators theorized the suspects shot Jacobo on suspicion he was tailing them. — LBG, GMANews.TV
