GNPower wants to build Bataan wind farm
The Netherlands-based power developer GNPower Ltd. Co. wants to put up a 300 megawatt (MW) wind farm in Bataan as part of a "world class energy complex." Energy Assistant Secretary Mario Marasigan said that GNPower has a pending application with the Energy Department and has yet to complete all requirements. He declined specify GNPowerâs plans "until they have submitted all application documents." The Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) recently renewed the license of GNPower to sell, broker, market, or bundle electricity to end-users in the Philippines. The 300-MW wind project is part of the third phase of GNPowerâs integrated, multi-phase electricity generating and fuel handling complex on a 100 hectare site along the coast, with additional land for wind sites and pump storage in Bataan. âLMR/VS, GMANews.TV
