Day to be longer than night for last time this year

Daylight lovers, take heed: This Wednesday is the last day this year when daytime is longer than nighttime. The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said day will be as long as night on the autumnal equinox on Thursday. "Autumnal equinox will occur on September 23 when day and night will have equal length on Earth," PAGASA said in its astronomical diary. On Wednesday, the sun rose at 5:45 a.m. PAGASA's extended forecast said it will set at 5:53 a.m. But after Thursday, nights will start to become longer than days, PAGASA said. "Philippine nights will be longer as the Sun approaches the celestial equator," it added. — LBG, GMANews.TV
