Charice trends on Twitter following Glee debut

The Twitterverse was abuzz today with stateside Filipinos tweeting about Charice Pempengco's much-awaited appearance on the hit TV show Glee. Shortly after the airing of Glee's second season premiere episode at 8pm Eastern Time in the US (8am in the Philippines), Filipino fans and other admirers managed to make Watching Glee and Charice trending topics on Twitter. Both trends were ranked sixth and eigth, respectively, on Twitter's trending topics. While "watching glee" is going down as a trending topic, "Charice" continues to skyrocket as viewers in the Philippines anticipate the local airing of Glee's premiere episode. The show will be aired locally on the ETC cable channel at 4pm and later in the evening on free television. Meanwhile, here's what people had to say on Facebook on Charice's debut. Charice Pempengco plays the role of Sunshine Corazon, a Filipino foreign-exchange student and recurring character whose powerful singing voice is expected to provide serious competition to the other lead characters on the show.
