2 more suspects in murder of Chinese traders in Isabela surrender

Two more suspects in the brutal killing of three Chinese rice traders in Isabela surrendered to authorities on Tuesday morning, police said. Arvin Guiao and Robert Baccay surrendered to Isabela police at 10 a.m. and admitted involvement in the kidnapping and murder of the Chinese nationals earlier this month, according to Chief Superintendent Francisco Villaroman, head of the Philippine National Police in Region II. Guia and Baccay said they were paid P25,000 each by principal suspect Jay Lord Dimal to abduct, kill and dismember victims Pan Xinyi, Pan Juhua and Gemma Eugenio last September 6. Dimal had earlier surrendered to local policemen and admitted that he masterminded the crime because he owed the Pan couple almost P3 million. The principal suspect was forced to turn himself over to the police after he was tagged by another suspect, Eduardo Sapipi, who admitted to the crime days after the incident. Two other suspects, identified as Allan Castillo and Ernesto Billador, followed suit and confessed to their participation in the same crime. The victims were killed a few hours after they were kidnapped last September 6 while on their way home, their dismembered bodies dumped in different places in Isabela and Quirino provinces. The following day, the police said the victims’ relatives received phone calls from the suspects demanding a P10-million ransom. - Andreo Calonzo/KBK, GMANews.TV
