iGMA: Direk Dom on Grazilda: ‘I'm relieved that it worked well’

First week pa lamang ng Grazilda ay umani na ito ng papuri mula sa mga televiewers. Dagdag pa rito ang mataas na ratings na nakuha ng show during its pilot week. In the midst of all the praises the show is getting, Director Dominic C. Zapata extends his sincerest gratitude for all the show’s supporters. Nang aming bisitahin sa taping ng Comedy Bar si Direk Dom upang hingin ang kanyang pahayag ukol sa magagandang feedback sa primetime show niyang Grazilda ay masayang-masaya niyang ibinahagi ang kanyang experiences sa pagdi-direct ng show.

“I’m excited to work with all these actors. I’ve worked with most of them before, but it’s the first time I’ve worked with Cherie [Gil]," masayang kuwento ni Direk Dom. “Ang sarap katrabaho. I always learn from people I work with, whether they’re senior actors or the crew. It’s nice to be enriched from the experiences of our senior workers, whether they’d be actors or the technical people." Dagdag pa niya, nakatataba rin ng puso to be part of a team katulad ng team niya sa Grazilda. “I’m glad to be part of this team. When they say I’m the director, I’m only representing the team." “It’s really the work of the whole team – from the creatives, to the writers, to the lighting directors, to the actors, to everyone. It’s such a team effort that it humbles me to be given the title of the director. It’s just nice to be part of it. I hope we continue to bring pride and glory to the network," he added. Ano naman kaya ang kanyang masasabi tungkol sa mataas na ratings na nakukuha ng kanyang primetime show, pati na rin sa mga magagandang feedback ng mga manonood? “We’re very vigilant to make sure that the story goes well, that visually it’s still interesting. I wouldn’t say I was surprised," pahayag ni Direk Dom. “The word should be relieved. I’m relieved that it worked well. We pulled out all the stops and it worked on our favor. Ultimately it really doesn’t work to our favor. It really works in the favor of our viewers. Ultimately they are the winners here." Patuloy pa niya, malaking risk sa buong grupo to be telling a story from the point of view of a person that we have all hated as kids – ang evil stepsister. That’s why he is relieved that their efforts paid off. Nang amin ngang tanungin ang direktor kung ano ang dapat abangan ng mga televiewers sa Grazilda, maging siya ay excited rin. “I think the story gets more and more engaging because even I can’t put down a new script," nakangiting kuwento niya. “They could expect twists and turns that they don’t expect. They could expect a very impressive performance from Glaiza [de Castro] because it’s such a tricky, tricky character to play. I don’t know how sometimes you feel like you hate someone, but at the same time you like that person. Expect your emotions to be aroused some more because of the way the story is going to go." Matapos ang interview, Director Dominic Zapata extended his sincerest gratitude sa lahat ng mga sumusubaybay sa Grazilda: “I’d like to say thank you to the viewers for showing their appreciation by watching the show. Susuklian po naman ito ng karampatang kalidad at karampatang dedikasyon sa paggawa ng isang programang maganda at kaaya-aya. We will never take for granted the fact that you allow us to be in your homes at night with your family. We will never take that for granted. We will always bear in mind our responsibility to your kids and that we’re responsible to be allowed into your homes every night. We’ll bear that in mind everytime we do a show."
