Report: Cop's son accidentally shoots self dead in Bicol

In what could be the first fatality related to an ongoing gun ban, policeman's eight-year-old son accidentally shot self dead with his father's service firearm in their house in Bicol Wednesday afternoon. Radio dzRH reported Wednesday evening the incident occurred at 2 p.m. in the victims' house in Sabang village in Naga City. The report said the fatality saw his father's cal-.45 pistol in their house and played with it. He allegedly loaded ammunition into the gun and aimed it at his head, but the weapon went off. An initial investigation showed the boy's father, a policeman in Naga City, had left the firearm behind supposedly because of an ongoing gun ban.
