Govt to hold ‘infrastructure summit’ this November

The government will hold an “infrastructure summit" in November to convince local and foreign business leaders to invest in the country’s infrastructure projects, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) said Thursday. “We’re [going to] invite the potential investors from all over the world who will be interested in investing in infrastructure projects in the Philippines," DTI Secretary Gregory Domingo said in a press briefing in Malacañang. Domingo said the government will present 10 projects for investors to consider although he refused to disclose which projects. To attract investors the government intends fast track the approval process of investments to six months from the at least nine months and in some cases several years, he said. —Jam Sisante/JE/VS, GMANews.TV
