Power-line spark causes smoke at Palace complex

A spark at an electrical power line threatened to trigger a fire at the Malacañang complex in Manila Friday night, but firefighters quickly neutralized the threat. Radio dzBB reported early Saturday Manila firefighters learned of the threat at 8:54 p.m. Friday, and rushed to the site. No one was reported hurt in the incident even as firefighters declared a "fire" out at 9:05 p.m. An initial investigation by Senior Fire Officer 1 Pascual Nieto showed firefighters were alerted by callers who saw a spark at the electric line near the Palace's Mabini Hall. — LBG, GMANews.TV
