ARMM police creates probe team for slain election officer


The police in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao has formed an investigating team to look into the killing of an election officer in Basilan, a radio report said Sunday. Radio dzBB's Manny Vargas said ARMM police Chief Superintendent Bienvenido Latag ordered the panel to trace the suspects and determine the motive behind the ambush-slay of election officer Entong Musa. Musa was gunned down by unidentified assailants Saturday evening in Tuburan, Basilan. The incident occured a few weeks before the Oct. 25 barangay (village) and Sangguniang Kabataan (youth council) elections, and while the Philippine National Police's Sept. 25-Nov. 10 gun ban was in effect. —Sophia Dedace/VS, GMNews.TV
