Security tight at Manila school for Aquino's 'First 100 Days' report


Security was tight at a school near Malacañang in Manila on Thursday as President Benigno Simeon Aquino III is scheduled to deliver a report on his first 100 days in office. Radio dzBB's Tuesday Niu reported that presidential guards and Manila police secured the La Consolacion College hours before Aquino's report at 10:00 a.m. Students lined up at the school brought red hearts with the message: "We love P-Noy." Representatives of various sectors flocked to the theater where Aquino was scheduled to deliver his report. Among the Cabinet secretaries who showed up early was Labor Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz. Meanwhile, business group representatives went to the school early to hear Aquino's report. Radio dzBB's Denver Trinidad reported the businessmen are particularly interested in Aquino's update on the actions against the fat perks of officials in some government-owned and controlled corporations, the dzBB report said. –VVP, GMANews.TV
