What female Facebook users like in different places...

... is a handbag! Facebook users have been scratching their heads, thanks to overactive imaginations, at the mysterious status updates being posted by their female friends. Status updates like these have been appearing on the social networking site: "I like it on the bedroom floor," "I like it on the kitchen counter," and "I like it on the stairs." What may appear to be too much information about one's personal life is supposedly a part of an online campaign to increase awareness for the Breast Cancer month of October. Earlier this year, in January, the Facebook messages with the question "What's your bra color?" was circulated among women, also to increase public awareness about breast cancer. The recipients of the messages were instructed to post their answers on their "status boxes" on Facebook. Status updates such as "Pink" or "Black" puzzled many Facebook users. The origins of the meme are unclear and it appears that some participants themselves aren't aware how their actions would promote awareness about breast cancer. According to this blog, it's just a game. The message that has currently been circulating among female Facebook users reads: "So you guys remember the game last year about what color bra you were wearing at the moment? For those of you who didn't participate in the game, what happened was that females posted the colour of the bra that they were wearing at that moment in their status on Facebook. Facebook statuses were full of colors and it had males everywhere wondering why. The purpose was to increase awareness of October Breast Cancer Awareness month. It was a tremendous success and we had men wondering for days what was with the colors and it made it to the news. This year's game has to do with your handbag/purse,we want to know where you put your handbag the moment you get home for example "I like it on the couch", "I like it on the kitchen counter", "I like it on the dresser" well u get the idea. Just put your answer as your status with nothing more than that and cut n paste this message and forward to all your FB female friends to their inbox. The bra game made it to the news. Let's see how powerful we women really are!!! REMEMBER - DO NOT PUT YOUR ANSWER AS A REPLY TO THIS MESSAGE- PUT IT IN YOUR STATUS!!! PASS THIS TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW." There are mixed reactions to this trend on Facebook. Some think it's ineffective. One Facebook user commented, "I think it's stupid to play this purse game to create breast cancer awareness. If we're all secretive about it, it really defeats the purpose. Quite frankly, I don't care where you put your purse when you get home. I do care that you remind yourselves, your sisters, your friends, your mothers, your grandmothers, your cousins and your aunts to make sure to get checked and be aware!!!" Meanwhile, others are more than eager to join in the fun, even asking each other for suggestions on what to say. Whether or not the meme is actually raising awareness on anything, it's been spreading pretty quickly even though no group has claimed responsibility for the supposed breast cancer awareness campaign. –VVP, GMANews.TV
