Coast Guard tracking crew of boat that rammed fishing vessel in Cebu


The Philippine Coast Guard is now tracking down a commercial vessel that rammed a fishing vessel and left 24 fishermen stranded off Cebu province last weekend. Radio dzBB’s Carlo Mateo reported on Monday the Coast Guard ordered the owners of the MV Andrea Princess to explain the “accident" and why its crew fled the scene of the accident. At least 24 fishermen were stranded and eventually rescued on Sunday after the MV Andrea Princess rammed their fishing banca Bachelor Princess, causing it to capsize. The incident occurred off Compostela town in Cebu. Fishing banca owner Ely Dano reported the incident to authorities. The Coast Guard dispatched a team that rescued the fishermen. –VVP, GMANews.TV
