Maguindanao massacre suspect transferred to Taguig jail
Following his arrest last weekend, a suspect in last year's massacre in Ampatuan town in Maguindanao province was transferred to a government detention facility in Taguig City Monday afternoon. Pasay police chief Senior Superintendent Napoleon Cuaton said they received an order from the Quezon City court to transfer Moactar Daud to Taguig. "Na-receive ko na at may directive ang court i-turnover sa Bicutan PNP... May directive si Judge Reyes (I have received the order from Quezon City Judge Jocelyn Reyes to transfer Daud to the Philippine National Police facility in Bicutan)," Cuaton said in an interview on dzBB radio. On Tuesday, radio dzBB's Denver Trinidad reported that police assured tight security for Daud. Daud is expected to be presented before Quezon CIty Judge Jocelyn Reyes. The other suspects in the Ampatuan massacre case are detained at the Bicutan facility. A separate report by dzBB's Mao dela Cruz said a Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) team was deployed to escort Daud to Bicutan. Daud was arrested in Pasay City before dawn Sunday while watching a motorcycle race. He denied any role in the massacre.
