Pangasinan pastor shot dead in Quezon City

An unidentified man shot dead a pastor while he was still inside his car near a housing area in Quezon City Wednesday morning. The incident along Banlat Road in the city's Tandang Sora district prompted police to close off a portion of the road to traffic.
"Nagko-cross dito ang Sentra, biglang lumapit ang tao naka-T-shirt ng puti medyo kalbo nasa edad 30 pataas. Tinutukan sa may salamin. Pagkabaril naglakad palabas ng Banlat road [at] sumakay sa tricycle na pula," village councilor Rolly Carreon said. (The victim's Nissan Sentra was crossing the street when the gunman approached and shot him. The gunman then walked away and rode on a red tricycle. The attacker was almost bald, wearing a white shirt, and about 30 years or older.) Radio dzBB's Allan Gatus cited initial police reports identifying the fatality as Joseph Saliba, 42, a pastor of the Baptist Church in Dagupan, Pangasinan. An initial investigation showed Saliba was shot inside his white Sentra (PDI-934). The vehicle went out of control and crashed into the gate of Jubilee Villa. Police recovered at least seven empty shells from a cal-.45 pistol. — LBG, GMANews.TV
