4 hurt as fire hits Tanduay plant in Laguna

At least four people were reported injured while several residents fled their homes after a fire hit a liquor plant in Laguna province Thursday night. Radio dzBB reported early Friday that the fire razed parts of the Tanduay Distillers plant compound in Cabuyao, Laguna, at 7:45 p.m.

The report said three of the injured were volunteer firefighters from Binondo, Manila, while the fourth was a plant worker. All of them were not immediately identified. Firefighters had to use chemical foam to put out the flames. As of early as Friday morning, the fire was considered "confined." On the other hand, residents living near the compound evacuated their homes after the fire threatened to spread to their homes, the report said. — LBG/RSJ, GMANews.TV
