NBI releases artist's sketch of Bar exam blast suspect

The National Bureau of Investigation has released an artist's sketch of one of the suspects in the post-Bar examinations explosion in Manila on September 26.

NBI released on Tuesday this artist's sketch of one of the suspects in the September 26 Bar exam blast.
The details included in the sketch described the suspect as:
  • a 20 to 25-year-old male;
  • of medium build;
  • 5'6'' to 5'7" in height, and
  • weighs between 60 to 65 kilograms. The details also provided clues that the suspect wore "long pants, maong; T-shirt, dark polo and low cut sneakers" when the incident occurred. Justice Secretary Leila de Lima earlier said arrests of the suspects can be expected within the week. She did not disclose how many individuals were responsible for the incident. More than 40 people were hurt in the September 26 grenade blast that occurred outside the De La Salle University campus along Taft Avenue in Manila. The blast marred the traditional "Salubong," where well-wishers greet the law graduates who have just finished four successive weekends of the grueling Bar exams. Jed Carlo Lazaga, a fourth year law student of the University of San Jose Recoletos Law School in Cebu province, was earlier accused as the one who allegedly threw the grenade. However, Lazaga denied the allegation and accused members of the Tau Gamma Phi fraternity of mugging him on suspicion that he was responsible for the blast. The Supreme Court has formed a committee to look into the violence. The committee has until October 15 to complete its probe. However, because the NBI is still wrapping up its investigation, the court decided to extend the inquiry by a week. –VVP, GMANews.TV
