Mang Inasal founder to help manage chain under Jollibee

Edgar Injap Sia, CEO of Filipino food chain Mang Inasal, will have an active role in the management of the restaurant he founded seven years ago, Entrepreneur.com.ph said in an article on its site. “We will remain part of the management committee in the coming years. Thus, keeping the easy access you enjoyed throughout the years," Entrepreneur said, quoting from a letter Sia sent franchise holders of Mang Inasal. The decision to sell the restaurant chain to Jollibee Foods Corp. will pave the way for the brand to go global, Sia said in giving the rational for selling to one of the country’s largest food chain. While expressing "deep sadness" over the decision, Sia said he is confident that JFC's TonyTan Caktiong shares his "values and principles. But looking beyond the pain and sadness, I am ecstatic and in high spirits knowing that the future of ‘my seven-year old child’ is secured and filled with great optimism," Sia said in his letter addressed to the Mang Inasal Family. — VS, GMANews.TV
