PEP: Borgy Manotoc on joining politics: Maybe later

Live na nag-guest noong Sabado, October 23, sa StarTalk TX si Borgy Manotoc na ngayon ay handa nang pasukin ang mundo ng showbiz. "I think it's time now. Kasi dati, may business ako, kailangan ko talaga hands on. And now three years na yung business ko, so kaya ko naman mag-interject sa TV, sa showbiz," sagot ni Borgy nang tanungin ng StarTalk hosts [na sina Lolit Solis, Butch Francisco at Ricky Lo] kung bakit nag-decide na siya mag-artista. Noon pa man, marami na ang kumukuha kay Borgy na mag-artista. Paano siya napapayag na maging contract artist ng Viva, na isang film outfit at artist management company? "I think that it was the right time, and I feel that you know, I'm in the right situation in my life. Na kaya ko na, really, to enter show business. "In the past, it was more of something I wanted to try out, to experiment, to see if it would click. But now, I really have an idea of what I wanna do." Mapapanood na ba siya both in movies and TV? "Let's start with TV first. Movies? [That's] a little scary, but we'll see what happens," natatawang sinabi ni Borgy. Mag-aaral din daw siyang mabuti ng Tagalog. KONTRABIDA ROLES. Sa tanong naman kung ano ang nais niyang gampanang papel, sinabi ni Borgy na gusto niyang mag-kontrabida, isang nakakatawang kontrabida, para maipakita raw niya ang "different side of Borgy." "I've always wanted to play the antagonist, maybe to play a funny bad guy, that would be fun," he said. His choices of future leading ladies? "Let's see, who would be good? I've always thought Heart [Evangelista] is really talented and obviously very beautiful but I know she has a boyfriend, so, you know, for work purposes." Nais rin ni Borgy na makatrabaho si Marian Rivera, pati na rin ang showbiz crush niyang si Rhian Ramos. ON DATING. Ano ang status nila ni Georgina Wilson na ngayon ay napapabalitang girlfriend ni Borgy? "Right now we're still dating, we're taking things slow. We're both very busy, so I think we're in no rush to make a commitment. We're in our 20s still, so we're still quite young. We'll see how it goes." Wala raw silang problema ni Richard Gutierrez na dating karelasyon ni Georgina. "We're good! He's a nice guy, we've met a few times. We've gone out, we've hung out, like for dinner and drinks, okay naman." Never raw sila nagkaroon ng awkward moment ni Richard. "Because they're still friends [Georgina and Richard], wala silang problema, so it's easy." Selosa ba si Georgina? Lalo pa ngayon at mag-aartista na si Borgy... "Ah hindi naman, hindi naman. "She's very understanding. Of course, she dated somebody like Richard, so alam niya kung ano ang nangyayari sa showbiz, alam niya ang mga intriga so she understands." Naikuwento rin ni Borgy na mas gusto ni Georgina ang maiksing buhok niya ngayon. "So now she speaks to me. Dati daw hindi niya gusto yung mahabang buhok," pabirong sabi ng binata. POLITICS IN HIS BLOOD. Apo ng dating Pangulo ng Pilipinas na si Ferdinand Marcos at dating First Lady na si Imelda Marcos, at anak ng incumbent Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos si Borgy. Kaya nasa dugo niya ang pulitika. Papasukin rin ba niya ito balang-araw? "Ah well, [politics] is a different animal. I think show business first. Politics? Maybe, [it] will come later. It's part of my family, I can't say no but at the same time I think the climate of politics is a bit... you know, so we'll see. Sa ngayon, sa show business muna." Handa ba si Borgy sa mga intriga sa showbiz? "Parang, obviously... I won't understand till I'm really in it. But kasi yung pamilya ko, since we were kids, we've always experienced different intrigues here and there.
