Early Tarlac voters wait for its most illustrious voter: PNoy
In one village in Tarlac, many people who cast their votes early did not leave their voting center as they waited to catch a glimpse of their most illustrious resident — President Benigno Simeon Aquino III. Radio dzBB’s Tuesday Niu said many voters at the Central Azucarera de Tarlac Elementary School, Barangay Central, Tarlac were waiting for Aquino, who was expected to arrive at 10:00 a.m. On May 10, Aquino, then a senator and standard bearer for the Liberal Party, waited for more than three hours before casting his vote, due to a glitch in the Precinct Count Optical Scan (PCOS) machine used there. Meanwhile, the DZBB report said even the school where the President himself would cast his vote, was exempt from candidates’ last-minute campaigning, a violation of the rules of the Commission on Elections (Comelec). According to the report, several children were seen in the school premises, distributing campaign flyers of some candidates, a violation of Comelec rules against last-minute campaigning. –VVP, GMANews.TV
