3 voters killed, 20 hurt in Iloilo truck crash

Three people were killed and 20 others were wounded after a truck carrying voters on their way to vote figured in a freak accident in a mountainous road in Passi City, Iloilo province on Monday. Radio dzBB in Iloilo reported that the party of at least 50 voters was on its way to a polling center in barangay Magdungao when the truck they were riding developed engine trouble and crashed. Initial investigation showed that the truck's engine conked out as it was negotiating a high pass, dzBB said. The truck fell and turned turtle three times, crushing the fatalities. Sketchy reports identified the three dead victims as Junjun Peraro, Cathy Cesar, and Jasper Palomar. Many of the passengers suffered fractures and were rushed to a nearby hospital.
