‘Katring’ moves out of RP territory

Even as it intensified further, typhoon "Katring" moved out of Philippine territory Thursday night, state weather forecasters said. But the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) warned winds and waves from "Katring" remain a threat in Luzon. "Siya ay nakalabas na ng ating Philippine area of responsibility ('Katring' has exited the Philippine area of responsibility)," PAGASA forecaster Jun Galang said in an interview on dzBB radio Thursday night. He said "Katring" packed maximum winds of 150 kph near the center with gustiness of up to 185 kph, and was moving northeast at 15 kph. Galang said cloudy skies with scattered rainshowers loom over parts of the country Friday. But he said fishermen and travelers should be wary of big waves and strong winds from the seaboards of Northern, Central and Southern Luzon. "Mag-ingat sa seaboard ng Northern, Central at Southern Luzon, malalakas ang hangin at malalaki ang alon (Watch out for big waves and strong winds at the seaboards of Northern Central and Southern Luzon)," he said. - KBK, GMANews.TV
