Tondo meat vendor’s house gets robbed

A frozen meat vendor lost some P600,000 worth of cash and jewelry when robbers ransacked his home in Tondo, Manila while he was on an outing with neighbors, police reported Sunday. Danilo Cerie, 38, left his house at Dagupan, Tondo Saturday night to go to Laguna for an outing, said PO1 Dexter de la Paz of the Manila Police District (MPD). When Cerie returned at around 8 a.m. Sunday, after receiving a call from Manila telling him that his house had been robbed, he found a sliding window open. P400,000 in cash and P200,000 in jewelry were also missing, Cerie said. A five-year-old relative of Cerie’s said he saw two men entering the house, removing their slippers before they went in. According to the minor, both men carried a knife and a gun. MPD Chief Inspector Edgardo Carpio has deployed men on follow-up operations, to identify and arrest suspects in the robbery of Cerie’s house. — LRS/VS, GMANews.TV
