Landslides block main roads in Apayao province

Landslides blocked major roads in Apayao Wednesday, even as the province has just barely recovered from the devastation of Typhoon Juan (Megi). Radio dzBB's Carlo Mateo cited initial reports from the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council that the landslides were triggered by heavy rains there. Among the blocked roads were portions of the main highway, the Cabugao-Conner Road, and the Claveria-Calanasan Road. Local authorities are working to mobilize heavy equipment to clear the affected roads.
