Report: Two hurt as fire hits QC residential area

At least two people were reported injured in a fire that hit a residential area in Quezon City on Wednesday afternoon. Radio dzBB reported the fire started at 2:23 p.m. and razed houses along V. Luna Street and Kalayaan Avenue in Quezon City before it was placed under control shortly before 4:00 p.m. As of posting time, firefighters and arson investigators were still determining the cause of the fire. The report did not name the two injured people. A separate report on dzRH radio said at least seven houses were razed in the fire, which started at the house of a certain Mendoza. It was the second fire to hit Quezon City on Wednesday, after a fire razed part of the basement stockroom of ShoeMart (SM) in Cubao. The SM stockroom fire started at 12:08 p.m. and was eventually placed under control.
