Thailand’s PTT to expand PHL gas station network


Thailand’s PTT to expand PHL network PTT Philippines Corp., a subsidiary of state-owned PTT Public Co. Ltd. of Thailand, is looking at further expanding its distribution network to 50 service stations from 43 by the end of the year. Roby Tanjuatco, PTT Philippines corporate communications manager, said the firm targets to have 50 stations in Luzon and in Cebu by the end of 2010. It also plans to expand its network by 10 to 15 stations next year, he added. Tanjuatco said the capital expenditure for the planned expansion next year is “still to be determined." PTT Philipines president Siripong Phoungpaka had earlier said that the firm intends to have 100 to 200 stations nationwide by 2017. Each station would costs between P5 million and P25 million depending on location and size of each station, Phoungpaka said. At present, PTT Philipines has a retail network that covers Metro Manila, central, north and south Luzon as well as in the Visayas, in particularly Cebu where its operates and maintains a depot and a terminal. PTT Public, Thailand’s biggest oil company, manages five refineries in Thailand with a production capacity of one million barrels a day. — JE/VS, GMANews.TV
