Report: Pinoys escape fire in UAE

An undetermined number of Filipinos escaped unhurt when a fire razed a bedroom of a 15-story building in the United Arab Emirates Thursday afternoon. UAE news site Khaleej Times reported Friday that the incident occurred in Umm Al Quwain, where the Filipinos were workers at Aqua Park. Civil Defense personnel managed to put out the fire in half an hour, preventing it from spreading to other flats of the 15-floor building at Umm Al Quwain Main Street The report said building occupants were evacuated as smoke enveloped almost the entire structure.
