Report: Foundation worker allegedly killed by colleagues in QC

An employee of a foundation in Quezon City died a brutal death allegedly at the hands of her own colleagues inside their office in Quezon City early Monday. Radio dzBB's Allan Gatus reported neighbors managed to capture one of at least three suspects after hearing the victim's last cries for help. Killed in the attack was Cecilia Lancion, 47, an administrative assistant of the Community Builders Foundation at Scout de Guia Street in Quezon City. Lancion sustained three stab wounds in the back and two in the front part of her body. She also sustained blows to the head from a hard object. Neighbors captured social worker Jose Paulo Catacutan while police are tracking down at least two of his colleagues. Catacutan, whose clothes and hands were bloodied when he was arrested, denied taking part in the assault. However, the police said many witnesses claimed otherwise. The initial investigation showed that Catacutan and at least two colleagues likely attacked Lancion, whose cries for help attracted the attention of the neighbors. Recovered from the crime scene were bladed objects and a piece of wood believed to have been used by the suspects in assaulting Lantion. The investigation also showed the office was robbed in September, when Lancion was tied up by the burglars. –VVP, GMANews.TV
