Two suspected car thieves nabbed after freak accident in Parañaque


Two suspected car thieves were arrested when the sports utility vehicle (SUV) they were riding with five other persons crashed onto a post in Parañaque. Two of the vehicle's occupants were arrested but five others ran away, including a woman. Parañaque City police chief Senior Superintendent Alfredo Valdez said "Ang naabutan natin dalawang suspect (We caught up with two of the suspects)." Valdez said the suspects had were armed with shotguns when they were arrested at around 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday. He added that they are looking into the possible connection of the two arrested people to a car theft gang. "Baka grupo ito ng Pasay na napatay ng intelligence noong nakaraang buwan (These may be part of a carjacking gang whose members were killed in an encounter with police last month)," he said in an interview on dzBB radio on Tuesday. He said the arrested suspects were armed with shotguns. The suspects were riding a Mitsubishi Montero SUV which crashed after hitting a post along the West Service Road between Bicutan and Sucat in Parañaque. – LBG/VVP, GMANews.TV
