20 hurt in bus mishap in Isabela


Ilagan, Isabela- Twenty people were hurt when a passenger bus bound to Cubao, Quezon City from Isabela turned turtle on Monday evening because the road was slippery road after a heavy downpour. Police Supt. Roberto Bucad, Isabela police spokesman, said the Florida bus (with plate number NXY 705) was traversing the national highway in Barangay San Juan, Isabela on November 8 at around 9:00 p.m. when it met an accident. The police said the bus turned turtle when it overtook another vehicle while negotiating a "downgraded" asphalt road. The 20 injured passengers were treated at the Isabela Doctors General Hospital and the provincial government-run Faustino Dy Sr. Memorial Hospital in Ilagan. Driver Jackson Duran, 32, was held for questioning at the Ilagan police. –VVP, GMANews.TV
