Malacañang wishes Pacquiao well for upcoming fight vs Margarito


Malacañang on Friday said it wishes Filipino champ Manny Pacquiao well on his much-awaited match against Mexican boxer Antonio Margarito in Texas on Sunday (Manila time). "Best wishes po ang pinararating natin kay Manny Pacquaio. Kasabay po natin ang buong sambayanan na nagsasabing nais nating magtagumpay siya (We are sending our best wishes to Manny Pacquiao. We are one with the nation wishing for his victory)," said Presidential Communications Operations Office head Sonny Coloma in an interview with Palace reporters. Pacquiao, who is currently Sarangani congressman, is a member of President Benigno "Noynoy" Aquino III's Liberal Party. Pacquiao is a seven-division world champion. He is currently the WBO Welterweight World Champion (Super Champion). Named by the Boxing Writers Association of America (BWAA) as "Fighter of the Decade" for the 2000s, he was also rated as the number 1 pound-for-pound boxer in the world by several sporting news and boxing websites, such as The Ring Magazine, Sports Illustrated, ESPN, NBC Sports, Yahoo!
