House welcomes two more members

The House of Representatives on Monday welcomed two more lawmakers, bringing to 280 the total members of the chamber. Bulacan Rep. Maria Victoria Alvarado and Lanao del Sur Rep. Mohamad Hussein Pangandaman separately took their oaths before Speaker Feliciano Belmonte. The two won the special elections conducted in their respective congressional districts on November 13. Alvarado, who is on her second term, defeated former Bulacan governor Roberto Pagdanganan while neophyte congressman Pangandaman won over former National Labor Relations Commissioner Salic Dumarpa. Alvarado is the wife of Bulacan Governor Wilhelmino Sy-Alvarado while Pangandaman is the son of former Agrarian Reform Secretary Nasser Pangandaman. - Amita O. Legaspi/KBK, GMANews.TV
