Report: Cops rescue 10 girls from alleged sex trafficker

Police rescued at least 10 girls, some of them minors, from an alleged sex trafficker following a sting operation in Quezon City Wednesday. Radio dzBB reported Thursday the Philippine National Police's Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) arrested the trafficker at a residential area. PNP-CIDG head Director Leon Nilo dela Cruz said the suspect, initially identified as Jerson Aguirre, allegedly tried to recruit the girls aged 14 to 20 to the sex trade. Dela Cruz said Aguirre, who was arrested at a house in South Triangle Homes in Quezon City, tried to lure the girls to his trade with promises of money and drugs. Recovered from Aguirre was a plastic sachet containing suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu). An initial investigation showed the girls came from various towns in Rizal province. — LBG, GMANews.TV
