San Miguel to bid for BatMan-1 gas pipeline project

San Miguel Corp. (SMC) will bid for the 100-kilometer Batangas-Manila (BatMan-1) natural gas pipeline project next year, SMC president and CEO Ramon Ang said Thursday. “We plan to join all [the bidding]. We’re particularly interested in toll ways and energy," Ang told reporters in an interview. He refused to name the projects. There is no need for SMC to raise funds for the projects it intend to tie-up with the government, he said. “We have enough funding." BatMan-1 is envisioned to deliver natural gas from the Malampaya project in Batangas to power stations in Metro Manila. — JE/VS, GMANews.TV
