Wanted: More than 100 suspects in Ampatuan massacre

One year after the mass slaughter in Ampatuan town in Maguindanao province, more than 100 suspects in the gruesome killings have yet to be arrested. A total of 57 people – media groups say 58, but the body of the victim has yet to be found – were summarily killed on Nov. 23, 2009 in the worst election-related violence in Philippine history. More than a dozen members of the politically influential Ampatuan clan and around 60 policemen were arrested shortly after the carnage and have since been spending time behind bars, but most of their alleged conspirators and accomplices remain at large.

The figure dropped to 196 after the court removed a policeman, PO1 Johann Draper, from the list for lack of evidence. Based on records from the Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group, GMANews.TV prepared this gallery of suspects who are still scot-free one year after the gruesome crime.
