380 pass Chemical Engineering licensure exam


A University of the Philippines Diliman (UPD) graduate led the 380 passers of the Chemical Engineering Licensure Examination given in Manila and Cebu, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) said Friday. A total of 641 graduates took the examination which was given this month. John Kim Redecio of UPD topped the list of passers with 86.70 percent, followed by Dhan Lord Fortela of UP Los Baños (86.40) and Pheterson Doping of the Ateneo de Davao University (86.00). Hazel Henrisha Chua (University of San Carlos) 83.30 The examination was given by the Board of Chemical Engineering, which include Ofelia V. Bulaong as chair, and Francisco Arellano and Jeffrey Mijares as members. The PRC said the registration for the issuance of Professional Identification Card and Certificate of Registration will start on December 6 until December 10. Registrants are advised to bring the following: duly accomplished Oath Form or Panunumpa ng Propesyonal, current Community Tax Certificate (cedula), 3 pieces passport size picture (colored with white background and complete nametag), one 1" x 1" picture (colored with white background and complete nametag), 2 sets of metered documentary stamps, and a short brown envelope with name and profession. They will also have to pay the Initial Registration Fee of P600 and Annual Registration Fee of P450 for 2010-2013. Successful examinees should personally register and sign in the Roster of Registered Professionals. The oath-taking ceremony of the successful examinees, both in the most recent exams and in previous exams who have not taken their Oath of Professional, will be held on December 17 at 1:00 p.m. at the Manila Hotel along Roxas Boulevard. Registration for the oath-taking ceremony and for membership with the Philippine Institute of Chemical Engineers (PICHE) meanwhile will take place after registration as a professional with the Board and the Commission.—Jerrie M.
