Pacquiao in Quiapo Church for thanksgiving Mass

After a brief rest and hearty breakfast, boxing champ and Sarangani Rep. Emmanuel "Manny" Pacquiao attended a thanksgiving mass at the Quiapo Church in Manila hours after his return to the country Saturday. Radio dzBB's Allan Gatus reported security was tight around the church, even as well-wishers gathered there to greet the boxing icon. Pacquiao, still in the coat and tie he wore upon arriving at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport, was with his family and delegation. The Pacquiao delegation arrived at the church past 9 a.m. from the New World Hotel in Makati City, where he took a brief rest and had breakfast. It has been Pacquiao's custom to attend a thanksgiving Mass after his bouts abroad. Pacquiao pummeled Antonio Margarito last Sunday and won his eighth world title, the World Boxing Council super welterweight belt. After the Mass, he will proceed to Malacañang for a courtesy call on President Benigno Aquino III. — LBG, GMANews.TV
