Phivolcs: Quakes rock Isabela, Gensan


A magnitude-3.2 quake rocked Isabela province in Northern Luzon early Sunday, even as state seismologists do not expect it to cause damage. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the quake was recorded at 2:50 a.m., with the epicenter at 50 kms southeast of Cauayan town. Phivolcs said in a bulletin that the quake was tectonic, but did not immediately indicate the areas where it was felt. It said no aftershock was expected. Meanwhile, a magnitude-3.6 quake rocked General Santos City shortly before midnight Saturday, but Phivolcs said no damage or aftershock was expected. Phivolcs said the quake was recorded at 11:44 p.m. Saturday, and was tectonic in origin. It said the quake's epicenter was traced to 37 km southeast of General Santos City. - KBK, GMANews.TV
