Phinma Jr tennis bash gets under way


Local and international junior netters will vie for spots in the main draw of the Phinma International Junior Tennis Championships Week 1 at the Rizal Memorial Tennis Center. Eight players from the boys’ singles event will vie for spots in the main draw on Monday. Leading the cast is Nuttanon Kadchapanan, the top seed from Thailand. He will go up against Tomoki Hongo of Japan in his first action in the tournament after taking a bye in the first round. Other matches pit second seed Young Joo Jung of South Korea against Yusuke Ouchi of Japan; Andrew Joshua Cano of the Philippines against Singekrawee Wattanakul of Thailand; and Eric Roman de Romas of the Philippines against Noppawit Satprertpky of Thailand. In the girls division, second-ranked Mariel Zaire Ante of the United States goes up against Joy Lim Ming Yuen of Malaysia; Srey Pich Cheng of Cambodia meets Jennifer Lu of the US; and Chornay Cheng of Camboadia battles Natsumi Chimura of Japan. - RCJ, GMANews.TV
