Woman killed, 16 hurt in Antipolo road accident

A 50-year-old woman was killed while at least 16 others were injured after figuring in a freak road accident in Antipolo City Sunday, a radio report said Monday. Radio dzBB reported Monday that the Manila-bound jeep went out of control and hit Violeta Gumapac before falling into a ravine. The report cited initial police information showing the incident occurred in San Luis village, as passengers of the jeep were heading home for Manila. An initial investigation showed the jeep's brakes failed and hit Gumapac before falling into a ravine. Of the 16 injured, two passengers of the jeep aged 18 and 11 were rushed to the Antipolo Community Hospital while the 14 others were treated at the Antipolo City Hall. — RSJ, GMANews.TV
